Day-by-day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Shanghai

Upon arrival in Shanghai, your guide and driver will welcome you before heading to Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park(广富林文化遗址). This archaeological site dates back to the Neolithic Age (4000 years ago) and represents the "roots of Shanghai," witnessing the city's millennia of transformation. Discovered in 1958 and systematically excavated since 1961, its unique cultural remains were officially named "Guangfulin Culture" by archaeologists. The park features ancient-style architecture that transports visitors to imperial China.

After the visit, you will be taken to check in the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland (Deep Pit Hotel), which is located near Hongqiao transportation hub. Built into a 88-meter-deep quarry with 15 underground floors, it features cantilevered structures clinging to the pit's curved rock walls. Currently, it is divided into three zones: above-ground, cliffside (main building), and underwater suites/restaurant. Its lobby is designed with "Earth's Core Adventure" theme, featuring dynamic water curtain shows.

Day 2: Xitang and The Band Experience

Routes: Shanghai → Xitang → Hangzhou

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have a guided tour to visit Fudan University. Established in 1905 by educator Ma Xiangbo, it was China’s first self-founded higher education institution, with Sun Yat-sen serving as its inaugural board member. The campus blends Eastern and Western architectural styles to embody a legacy of academic freedom and cultural openness.

Next, the guide will take you to explore the Bund, the birthplace of modern Shanghai. Since the city’s 1843 opening to foreign trade, this waterfront area has remained its most vibrant district. The historic European-style buildings contrast with the futuristic skyline of Lujiazui across the Huangpu River, showcasing Shanghai’s past and present.

After visiting the Band, you will be arranged to visit Chenghuang Temple (City God Temple) and delve into Shanghai’s cultural roots, it encapsulates the city’s traditions through its temple fairs, blending religion, commerce, and folklore. After lunch, you will be transferred to Xitang, a living ancient water town. Staying here, you can admire the Tang-Song-era canals, Ming-Qing architectural complex and modern life styles. Stone bridges arch over misty waterways, hence creating scenes reminiscent of ink paintings.

Each season paints the lake uniquely: spring blossoms, summer lotus, autumn hues, and winter ink-wash vistas. After dinner, you will be transferred to Huzhou (1.5-hour drive) and then check in at Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort, a ring-shaped architectural marvel on South Taihu Lake’s shores. At night, its LED-lit facade transforms into a kaleidoscopic "moon," mirrored flawlessly on the water. Day 4: Silk Factory Tour and Confucius Temple-Qinhuai River Scenic Area Experience

In the morning, you can enjoy a lavish buffet at the hotel, featuring both Western and Chinese options. The breakfast includes stir-fried dishes, coffee, pastries, and local Huzhou specialties, earning its reputation as a must-try dining experience in the city.

After breakfast, you will be arranged to visit Silk Factory. China, renowned as the "Land of Silk," has Zhejiang as its core production and export hub. The province leads in raw silk output, satin production, and export volume, offering diverse silk varieties like luo (gauze), ling (twill), and brocade.

After lunch, you will have a guided tour to travel to Nanjing, the ancient capital of six dynasties, and explore Confucius Temple-Qinhuai River Scenic Area. When you gaze at the scenery along both banks of the Qinhuai River, you can feel the grandeur of the old saying "Jiangnan, a land of beauties; Jinling, a land of emperors". Day 5: Niushou Mountai and "Chanxing" · Light and Shadow Show Experience 

Routes: Nanjing → Wuxi  

After breakfast, you will have a guided tour to visit Niushou Mountain, a renowned scenic spot in Nanjing, it is also called "Tianque Mountain" for its twin peaks resembling ox horns. The mountain features Foding Palace and Foding Pagoda, Foding Palace is a 9-story deep-pit structure housing Buddha's parietal relic, with architectural highlights like the Grand Dome and Zen-themed exhibition spaces. While Foding Pagoda is a 9-tier Tang-style pagoda mirroring the historic Hongjue Temple Pagoda, recreating the mountain's iconic "twin pagodas" landscape.

After lunch, you will be arranged to Wuxi (2.5-hour drive) and explore the breathtaking Nianhua Bay, a lakeside Zen-themed town blending Tang-Song aesthetics with Buddhist culture, the key attractions include the below attractions.

  • Xiangyue Flower Street: The core area for experiencing Zen-inspired lifestyle through tea houses, artisan shops, and minimalist architecture.
  • Nianhua Lake: A mist-enveloped waterscape transforming into a luminous spectacle at night with light reflections and fog effects.

In the evening, you will have the chance to attend the "Zen Walk" Light Show, directed by G20 Summit's production team. This upgraded immersive performance combines lighting, sound, and projection mapping to create a dreamlike journey through Zen philosophy.

Day 6: Departure

After breakfast at the hotel, you can choose different visit schemes as below:

  • Pearl Museum of Taihu Lake: It displays Wuxi’s pearl industry—from cultivation to high-end jewelry design with cutting-edge cultural exhibits.
  • Yixing Purple Sand Museum: Featuring centuries-old masterpieces of zisha pottery, it is also a UNESCO-recognized craft.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Tongli Water Town (1.5-hour drive), one of "Six Ancient Towns of Jiangnan." The highlights include Tuisi Garden and Film Legacy.

  • Tuisi Garden: A UNESCO World Heritage Site with seasonal-themed landscapes, which means the programs such as music, chess, calligraphy and painting will be displayed in different seasons.
  • Film Legacy: Designated as a "China Tongli Film Base" by the China Filmmakers Association.

Afterwards, you can have free activities at your own pace, perhaps explore a local favorite spot. Then, your driver will escort you to the airport or train station for your onward journey.
